Direct answer

Collect dust, sell it, then spend the earnings on better equipment. The official Steam page describes this loop and online co-op for up to 16 players.

Follow the loop

  1. Collect lunar dust. The store describes beginning with a toothbrush.
  2. Deliver and sell. Take stored dust to a depot and launch shipments to earn money.
  3. Upgrade your equipment. Earnings can buy cleaning tools and greater carrying capacity. Cleaning vehicles become part of the growing operation.

This is an orientation to the advertised loop, not a tested fastest route or a recommendation to buy a particular upgrade first.

Before you start

Steam lists a 64-bit operating system: Windows 10 minimum and Windows 11 recommended. Check the full current requirements on Steam against your machine; this guide does not certify hardware compatibility.

Solo play and online co-op are listed, with up to 16 players in a lobby. Cross-platform support is not established here.

Building changes documented in 1.0.5

You can place building pieces on dusty terrain; the developer says the footprint flattens the dust underneath. Clearing a site first is no longer a construction requirement.

With the building tool, R enters free relocation and moves the selected piece together with objects standing on it. Right-click restores the original position; R or Esc exits. Connected belts follow moved ports only within their reach. These are documented controls, not a relocation test performed by this guide.

The 1.0.5 demolition refund is 100% of the piece’s price, replacing the earlier 75%. A refund is distinct from selling dust. This guide does not calculate earnings or prescribe an optimal layout.

Prepare a first co-op session

Identify the host and compare installed game versions. Use the co-op checklist to understand the documented host upgrade matrix before assuming how purchases or guest progress carry across sessions.

If you are returning to an existing world, read the save-backup guide before changing game versions. The construction changes below are not instructions to replace a world or start a new save.
